Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join a successful business based in Sheffield on a part time basis (c20 hours per week)
You will provide timely and accurate support to the finance team by delivering purchase invoice processing, query resolution, cash management processing and month end support.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Cash book maintenance and Bank reconciliations *Petty Cash & Credit card posting and reconciliations *Maintaining Purchase Ledger *Processing purchase invoices and resolving issues *Resolving supplier queries and ensuring outcomes are communicated effectively *Balance sheet reconciliations and month end support *Support the finance team in all related duties as required *Credit Control & Sales Ledger maintenance *Dealing with supplier queries *Assisting with VAT Returns *Assisting with month end duties & management accounts (over time) *Finance telephone calls, sending email/letters, updating electronic log *Taking and reconciling payments - cheque, debit/credit card & cash
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
*Confident working knowledge of Microsoft Office and in particular Excel *Be able to manage and prioritise workload *Ability to organise effectively *Work effectively as part of a team *Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written *Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail *Good analytical skills *Basic understanding of Double Entry Bookkeeping
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
*Qualified to GCSE Grade C or above in Maths & English, or equivalent experience *AAT qualified or working towards qualification would be a distinct advantage *Experience of working in a similar role
