We are currently recruiting for a Accounts Assistant for our Client based near Rushden, Northamptonshire. This is for a six month contract with the potential to go permanent for the right person. The role is perfect for an ambitious and progressive Accounts Assistant with at least 2 years previous experience in a Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant role. The role would be particularly relevant for someone currently studying AAT.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintaining Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger
  • Taking a proactive role in managing and collecting debts of company debtors
  • Preparation of statements, client status reports and all relevant information as required
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of customers and suppliers account
  • Journal entries
  • Preparing weekly payment runs
  • Dealing with customers and suppliers queries
  • Ad-hoc Accounts admin

Personal Skills required:

  • Self-starter able to work using own initiative
  • Must be a team player who is hands on and flexible.
  • Accurate, efficient and organised with the ability to priorities tasks as needed
  • Professional, confident and diplomatic when liaising with others
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Progressive
  • Knowledge of Sage Line 50
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Qualifications required - Minimum of Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or similar or Studying AAT
