ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Established in 2002 the client operates a fast and efficient pallet delivery service across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Norfolk. Over the years we have gained an excellent reputation for customer service, reliability and performance levels.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join them at their depot in Wisbech to take responsibility for the smooth running of the financial processes of the depot.

Areas Of Responsibility:

• Sales Ledger - creation of sales invoices and credit notes
• Credit checking of new customers and ensuring existing customers have sufficient credit limits for new jobs.
• Review and resolve sales ledger queries/discrepancies
• Processing and handling of customer GIT insurance claims
• Provision of customers weekly & monthly reports
• Purchase ledger - matching purchase invoices to delivery notes and purchase orders
• Coding and inputting of purchase invoices onto Sage 50
• Reconciling supplier statements
• Resolving purchase ledger queries with suppliers & internal staff
• Process revenue requests from other depots
• Banking
• Processing employee expenses
• Maintain & reconcile Petty Cash
• Processing of weekly payroll
• Updating holiday & absence records
• Provision of daily, weekly & monthly reports as directed for Head Office


Skills Required:

• Minimum of 2 year's previous experience in an Accounts Assistant role
• Proficient in Sage 50 Accounts
• Good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and VLOOKUP
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Reliable, flexible, hardworking and positive
• Ability to take initiative when it comes to your workload and prioritising tasks


Salary: £20,000 to £23,000

Hours of Work: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday

Holidays: 28 Days inclusive of Bank Holidays

Pension: Workplace Pension
