Our client has a great opportunity to join their fantastic Finance team within their growing business.

This company is a supplier of a diverse range of Commercial products to a wide range of customers, and has established a fine reputation for competitively priced products and high levels of customer service.

Working as part of the Finance team, the Accounts Assistant will assist in the daily administration of the company's sales and purchase ledgers. The role will involve a significant element of routine work in support of regular transactions within the department but will also require some contribution towards ad hoc analysis of data in support of the department.

The successful candidate will have experience of working within sales and purchase ledger roles, as well as general ledger accounting, and will be well organised and take pride in producing accurate work that meets strict month end deadlines.

The role also requires the candidate to be flexible and adaptive and be able to demonstrate and ability to communicate clearly and effectively across internal departments and to external customers and vendors.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Maintain Sales & Purchase Ledger Accounts

Post Cash Receipts

Process Sales Invoices & Credit Notes

Process Purchase Invoices & Credit Notes

Process Credit Account Application Forms

Investigate Ledger Discrepancies & ensure all issues and discrepancies are dealt with in a timely & efficient manor

Reconcile Supplier Statements

Bank Reconciliations

Process Employee Expenses

Post Journals

Order Stationary & Office Supplies

Assist in month end procedure

Variance Analysis

Support Finance Manager in month end tasks

Balance sheet reconciliations

Commercial analysis and reporting

The ideal candidate will need to have strong communication skills, work well within a team, the ability to be proactive, work well under pressure and prioritise own workload whilst meeting deadlines and producing accurate work

Good knowledge of Excel, MS Office is essential and Microsoft Dynamics Nav is desirable

The hours are full time between 9-5.30 (37.5 per week)
