Accounts Assistant – £24,000 p/a – London, UK

The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and capable financial Accounts Assistant to join a small finance team for a highly successful online retail business on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Accounts Manager and Financial Controller.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant who is used to working in a fast-paced environment. As the company is rapidly growing, there will always opportunities to grow within the Finance department. Some of the key responsibilities of an Accounts Assistant include, but are not limited to:

  • Reconciling a high amount of sales transactions on a daily basis, posting it on Xero if required; reconciling credit card transactions, PayPal transactions etc. and Amazon sales transactions
  • Matching Bacs transactions to online orders and reconciling bank on daily basis
  • Processing customer refunds
  • Preparing EC Sales List and Intrastat Reports, submitting it to HMRC
  • Posting depreciation and manage fixed assets register
  • Preparing accruals and prepayments for monthly Management Accounts; posting them on the accounting system and reversing it out next month; and preparing BS reconciliations for the relevant account
  • Posting payroll and pension journals and preparing monthly BS reconciliations for those accounts
  • Compiling monthly sales reports and analysis of data; and assisting in analysis of management accounts and Profit and Loss statements

  • Experienced in an accounts department is required
  • AAT OR ACCA studying/qualified

  • Being a team player and willing to help the team
