2nd Line IT help desk = 29k = 18 month FTC The company To work for a large rail company. The Role Delivering 2 line desktop support services to headquarters staff Operating as a central co-ordination point between the IT Team and the Service Desk operation to ensure all tickets are allocated, escalated and closed within the required severity level time period. To encourage staff to log support calls and document their outcome to facilitate the resolution of common queries. To redirect or escalate support requests to the Service Desk To pro-actively provide information to users on the progress of outstanding support calls. To deploy PCs and associated peripherals including new installations and the redeployment of existing equipment. To install and configure operating systems and software to agreed standards under the direction of the IT Manager. To maintain the existing PCs and peripherals to standards determined by the IT Manager by performing upgrades, new installations and carrying out routine procedures. To assist in the compilation and maintenance of an accurate inventory of the hardware and software. To assist in the maintenance of the IT Department technical documentation, guidelines and procedures and ensure they are disseminated to users. To provide at all times a professional, courteous and rapid response to individual users. To undertake such other work as may be assigned which is consistent with the nature of the job and its level of responsibility. To develop and maintain active and progressive working relationships with all members of the IT Department. The Person You will have experience Microsoft MCSE accreditation or development plan to achieve and maintain currency of qualifications related to systems technology used within the company. You will have experience of Apple Mac, Blackberry, Citrix and related thin client technology. Broad knowledge of railway operating systems.
