Customer service professionals are a company’s first point of personal contact with customers, who often have issues that need to be resolved or who need information about specific products and services. Customer service jobs vary greatly and you could find yourself working behind a till, on the phone, at a computer, or behind a customer service desk. The job can, if you are working on a shop floor, be very physically demanding, as you have to be on your feet for large periods of the day. As well as good people and communication skills you should also have administrative skills and the ability to remain patient at all times. You should also have enthusiasm, stamina and be able to work well under pressure.
